Swept Away Valentine's Day Blog Hop

Welcome to the Swept Away Valentine's Day Blog Hop, brought to you by The Bloghop Spot.
I'd love to be Swept Away for a romantic weedend...day...hour...I'll take what I can get even if it's splitting a foot long at Subway. Any acknowledgement of the lover's holiday would be appreciated. Not a day goes by without my husband telling me he loves me - adores me. He pumps my gas for me, drives me to work in the snow and has learned not to toss my delicates in the dryer. But every year he asks me what date Valentine's Day is. It's always February 14th. Always. Which is what I tell him. Every year. A good year is when he asks before the 14th. It doesn't always go down that way.
How much importance do you put on Valentine's Day? Leave me a comment and your email address and I'll enter you in a drawing for an ecopy of Dodging Cupid (US/Int) and a goodie bag of V-Day gifts (US mailing only).

Blurb: After a string of disastrous Valentine’s Days, broken hearts and failed relationships, Jenna’s decided to spend this Valentine’s Day in the least romantic spot possible—the coin-op laundry. No flowers. No candy. No annoying couples or romance of any kind. The only glitch in her plan is the leather-clad biker in heart-print boxer shorts who walks in as her washer starts. This just might turn out to be the best Valentine’s Day Jenna’s ever had.

  1. I put no importance on Valentine's Day. I find it to be too commercial and prefer to show love throughout the year in little ways rather than have to do it on February 14th. Thanks for doing the hop!

  3. I think the hubby and I put more importance in the early years of out marriage...but today it's pretty much just another day.

  4. Thanks for the giveaway! Sometimes I wish I was swept away by someone's love especially on Valentine's Day. Being young, I have yet to have the opportunity. If I could choose any man in the world to sweep me away, I would certainly choose Alexander Skarsgard. He's nice, funny, polite and well educated. If I could pick a fictional man, I would choose Jamie Fraser from "Outlander." With his rough physicality, loving sensibility, and fierce passion, I know I would be happy for the rest of my life. I wish I could be swept away to New Zealand or Scotland, somewhere beautifully green and primitive.
    Enough with my epic daydreams…
    Happy Valentine's Day!

  5. While it's nice to have a day reminding you to tell your significant other how much you love them (at least for those of us with the strong silent types!), I think valentine's day is a bit overhyped. And the competitive displays of affection can get a little annoying...it's sometimes hard to see around the big bouquets at the office!

  6. I think a day to celebrate love is great. I never go insane about it, but I do love the idea behind the holiday

  7. I dont celebrate it. I prefer the little things all year and celebrating special days. Valentines is too commercial for me. Theres nothing special about it. Thank you for the awesome hop and giveaway!!! :)

    1. I guess I don't really celebrate it either...I bought my hubby a box of chocolate covered cherries and then ate half of them for him or we could say he re-gifted me half of his gift.

  8. I see it as a day when my husband and I are allowed to go out to dinner without the kids and not feel guilty about leaving them with a babysitter.
