Woman in Gold (2015) - Moviefone

I laughed. I cried. I got chills a few times. Helen Mirren is always great and did not disappoint. Ryan Reynolds - well - even nerded down he was cute and endearing. It was good to see Katie Holmes on the screen again.

No sex. No romance. No one gets murdered. Nothing blows up. Just a heart-warming story about justice and principles and righting wrongs. It's a era in history that should not be forgotten.

Most Memorable Year!

You know what tonight is! Yup. Dancing With the Stars night! Whoo hoo! And it's "Most Memorable Year" night.

It's interesting to see who picks their best year and who picks their worst year as most memorable.

 

Nastia & Derek - (tango) - she picked her Olympic year, so an amazing year for her.

Michael & Peta - (rumba) - he chose his coming out year that caused a rift between he and his dad, so, bad year.

Riker & Allison - (tango) - he picked the year his band took off. Love that choice and his dance and the song (Shut Up and Dance). And he's in jeopardy!!!! No way!!!!

Robert & Kim - (waltz) - he chose the year his mother died. Very touching. Elegant. Charming. HIGH SCORE!

Chris & Witney - (rumba) - being on the Bachelore was his most memorable year. Surprise surprise. Beautiful song.

Patti & Artem - (?) - birth of her child. Good choice.

Rumor & Val - (waltz) - Bullying. A girl in pain. She reminds me of Kelly Osborne. Beautiful, talented, vulnerable. Adele song. Love it. Dance. Love it.

Suzanne & Tony - (waltz) - she chose Three's Comapny year and dedicated it to John Ritter. Charming and magical. And she is a testament to the Thighmaster.

Willow & Mark - (contemporary) - Hunger Games year. I'm not a fan of contemporary, but the judges were. "Bravo" per Carrie Anne.

Noah & Sharna - (contemporary) - 2005 when he was injured. He's inspirational, for sure. Amazing! A hero.

 

Who was my fav? I can't decide. Rumor & Val or Riker & Allison. Impossible to pick.

Latin Night!!!!

It's Dancing With The Stars night, and more importantly it's Latin Night.

Disclaimer: I don't dance. I don't know anything about dancing, which doesn't stop me from loving and sometimes hating certain dance routines.

Rumor and Val - (Salsa) Nicely done. Apparently Rumor's whoo ha is a deadly weapon, but no blood was spilled.

Charlotte and Keo - (Rumba) Bruno just called her dumb but pretty (he thinks I'm pretty *flutters eyelashes*). I loved the song.

Michael and Peta - (Salsa) (Pitbull!!!!) Michael didn't break her. That's a good night.

Riker and Allison - (Salsa) Who is this kid???? He brought the sexy!!!! I feel dirty.

Suzanne and Tony - (Salsa) I hope I can salsa at 68. The woman can shake her moneymaker.

Chris and Witney - (Tango) I like the song and I'm a fan of the no-shirt-tuxedo. Tossing a twirling girl in the air and catching her on the way down is impressive.

Robert and Kym - (Rumba) My favorite Shark. Now I'm a fan of the no-jacket-tuxedo. He's buff. And sensitive. Don't get me started on how charming he is or how adorable they are together.

Patti and Artem - (Cha-cha) I love love loved her costume, the color and cut. She looked amazing.

Willow and Mark - (Paso) Fire and Ice.

Noah and Sharna - (Tango) WOW! Well done.

Nastia and Derek - (Samba) Me like. Primal.

To sum up the evening, there were plenty of bare, hairless man chests. It was a good night.

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

I loved this sequel to The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel!

I wish wish wish I could have watched the original and the sequel back to back. I love Sonny (Dev Patel). He reminds me of my son. And even if he didn't, he is fun and funny and adorable (like my son). And handsome (also like my son). His dialogue was charming. Maggie Smith's character (Muriel) remained brutally honest to the end. Not a bad thing.

Yes, I pretty much knew what was going to happen, because they dropped hints like bombs, but I enjoyed the journey. I smiled a lot and chuckled a few times. Watching warm weather movies depicting exotic locations when it's cold outside is always a treat. The movie had romance and lovely visuals and music and dancing and an upbeat message.

What would I have changed? I would have swapped Richard Gere (Guy)  and David Strathhairn's (Ty) roles, although David was great in his role. Actually, I thought Richard Gere was wrong for the movie. Sorry. But that might just be me.

I Love DWTS!

I missed week one (season 20 - can that be right?) of Dancing With the Stars :(

So I'm playing catch up with My Jam Monday. As always, I don't know who some of these "stars" are. I will be spending the next few weeks getting to know everyone.

Who am I rooting for? I love Kym and Robert (he is my favorite Shark). Rumor and Val blew me away. Loved his impression of Bruce Willis. Michael and Peta surprised me (in a good way). Who is this Riker guy? Wow!

For me the music is as important as the dance. I always love Pit Bull - goes without saying. Of course Rumor Has It (Adele), and Somebody That I Used To Know (Gotye).

Going, Going, Gone...

Bitter sweet...

I have requested, and been granted the return of my four books published through Ellora's Cave Publishing: Lily in Wonderland, This Side of Dead, Dodging Cupid, and Holiday Hostage. If you have a burning desire to read them...after March 24th, they may no longer be available. I have removed the covers, buy links and blurbs from my blog.

Where do we go from here? Not sure. I will probably one day self-publish them. For now, I'm going to concentrate on the next book, which is Star Kissed, and the next....

Blast From The Past Review from Romancing the Book

Review: From the moment Dodging Cupid jumped off I was sympathetic to Jenna. The sweet gal with the Valentine’s Day blues due. It’s been a while since she had a lasting relationship, and the coupled up friends and family giving her sympathetic glances have worn her patience thin. In order to boycott the sickening sweet scene all together Jenna opts to spend her time in the laundry mat. There’s nothing romantic about a spin cycle right?

Wrong, in walks Del, the sexy biker with an unexpected quirky sense of humor and impeccable manners. Del is a tall drink of water (as my Gran would say) with stubble, a Harley and a black leather jacket. Yes, just the yummy eye candy you need when doing your sexy lingerie. (Can you sense the sarcasm?) The attraction between them combined with their easy banter leads Del to participate in her ban of the holiday. The trouble is cupid seems to have it in for them.
This short had me laughing out loud, covering my mouth in disbelief, and smiling. This is a sweet treat filled with wit, and humor. Though Del and Jenna didn’t get down and dirty in the sheets, there was plenty of sizzle and sexual tension.
